Cookies & Storage Settings
Anwaar ul Furqaan — Al Hafeez Trust
How We Use Storage
Anwaar ul Furqaan (both the mobile app and the web platform) uses on-device storage for the following purposes only:
User Preferences
Remembering your chosen language (Urdu / English), reading mode, and font size so you do not have to reconfigure on every visit.
Last Read Position
Storing the last surah and ayah you were reading so the app can resume where you left off.
Audio Preferences
Saving volume and playback speed settings for recitation and tafseer audio.
Network Cache
The browser or OS caches API responses and audio files locally to speed up loading and reduce mobile data usage. This is standard HTTP caching with no personal data involved.
Storage Inventory
Full transparency: here is every item stored on your device by Anwaar ul Furqaan:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Platform |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__next_locale | Functional | Remembers the user's selected language (Urdu / English) across page loads on the web platform. | Session / 1 year | Web |
theme (localStorage) | Functional | Stores the preferred reading mode (e.g. ebook view, translation mode) so it persists between visits. | Persistent (localStorage) | Web |
SharedPreferences (mobile) | Essential | Android key-value storage used to remember last-read surah/ayah position, font size, and audio playback preferences. | Until app is uninstalled | App |
HTTP Cache (audio/text) | Functional | The OS and browser cache API responses and audio files to reduce data usage and improve loading speed. No personal data is stored. | As per HTTP cache headers (typically 7–30 days) | Both |
